Finding Hats Bags And Shoes

Girls often grow up with certain apparel fashion "rules" ingrained into their heads. For instance, never wear shoes that are a lighter color than your pants or skirt. Never wear more than four colors combined. When you wear the same color top and bottom, it must be an exact match -- especially for navy or black. Lastly, your hats bags and belts must all match in color. However, nowadays, these "old-fashioned" laws are falling out of favor as individuals take bolder approaches to fashion. This can really leave a woman scratching her head, saying, "Well, do I look good or don't I?"

Weddings are naturally exciting events. After all, you always thought those two made the cutest couple! You've done the shower thing, purchased gifts, took off the time from work and secured your date. Perhaps you even have the perfect dress. However, one task remains -- the most daunting of all -- finding hats bags and shoes. Sure, not everyone wears hats to weddings these days. Yet a hat can be a wonderful way to exude confidence and chic style. A hat can transform a plain cocktail dress into an elegant fashion statement. Adding jewelry, purses, makeup, shawls and custom shoes can really complete an outfit, making you into an amateur fashion designer. What fun!

All Leather Women’s Work Gloves for Heavy Duty Work

This all leather work glove is ideal for jobs requiring both hand dexterity and protection. You will love how your new work glove stands up to hard work and protects your hands from scratches, blisters and thorns. It is made with top grain pigskin leather that has been brushed to a suede finish for softness. Top grain leather is the strongest and most resilient type of leather and most typical women’s leather work gloves are not made with top grain leather.

On the palm of our work glove is extra padding to provide a soft cushion while you work.

A Leather Work Glove with a Past and Present

Our all leather work glove has been a favorite of many of our customers since it was introduced when the Womanswork company was founded in 1985. Back then, we set the standard for women's leather work gloves by providing a glove that was designed to fit a woman’s hands and held up to hard work. Today we are still setting the standard for great fit and superior protection.

Strong Women Building a Gentle World

Many of our customers find our logo inspiring and they wonder about the story behind it. This logo first came into being shortly after the company was founded and it was inspired by our customers.  We were receiving letters from women who depended on their Womanswork gloves as farmers, fire fighters, horse women, beekeepers, globe trotting volunteers, and …gardeners! One customer wrote “In Paraguay I helped build 3 houses for Habitat for Humanity and my Womanswork gloves were a life and hand saver.”

Textile antenna promises futuristic communications

Through the ESA Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) 5 project 'Textile Antennas', the Finnish Patria Aviation Oy company has demonstrated that an antenna can be built using textiles that can be worn and used for personal satellite communication.

"Flexible antennas are becoming attractive, since the recent developments in 'wearable computing' have opened several possibilities to integrate wireless functions into clothing," explained Rolv Midthassel, ESA’s representative on the project.

The project included the complete process, from selecting and characterising the materials, to making and verifying the design. The resulting demonstrator antenna looks like a simple patch of cloth and is capable of operating in the Iridium and GPS frequency band as part of clothing.

"The use of GPS and the Iridium satellite phone system for this project may be an attractive combination for a later product," said Mr Midthassel. "The Iridium satellites allow two-way voice and data communication, while GPS provides positional data to the user. Iridium could also relay the position of the user to operational centres."

The project's main issue was selecting the material to use. Then the material’s electrical characteristics had to be measured using a number of techniques. The next goal was to determine the antenna's performance when the wearer was moving around or bending.

Stool Culture

A stool culture is done to identify bacteria or viruses that may be causing an infection. Although more than 50 different kinds of bacteria normally live in the intestines, large numbers of abnormal bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites can grow in the intestines and cause infections and diseases.

For a stool culture, a stool sample is collected in a clean container and placed under conditions that allow bacteria or other organisms to grow. The type of infection is identified by noting the appearance of the growth, by performing chemical tests on the stool sample, and by looking at the sample under a microscope.

Depending on what your stool is being tested for, you may only need to collect one stool sample, or you may need several stool samples over a period of days.

Why It Is Done

A stool culture is done to:

  • Find the cause of symptoms, such as severe or bloody diarrhea, an increased amount of gas, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, bloating, abdominal pain and cramping, and fever.
  • Find and identify certain types of bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites that are causing infections or diseases, such as food poisoning, inflammation of the large intestine (pseudomembranous enterocolitis), cholera, and typhoid.
  • Identify a person who may not have any symptoms of disease but who carries bacteria that can spread infection to others. This person is called a carrier. A person who is a carrier and who handles food is likely to infect others.
  • Find out if treatment for an infection has been effective.

Iridium to Provide Satellite Tracking for Snowmobiles in Alaska's Tesoro Iron Dog Race

Iridium is providing real-time satellite data links to track the location and movement of teams participating in the 2007 Tesoro Iron Dog snowmobile race.

Billed as the “World’s Longest, Toughest Snowmobile Race,” the Tesoro Iron Dog competition is scheduled to begin February 11, 2007. The six-day race covers a 1,971-mile route extending from Wasilla on Alaska’s south coast to Nome on the west coast and then to the finish line in Fairbanks. Iridium resellers have partnered to develop a Web-based global mobile asset tracking application using the Iridium satellite network.

The SBD Pro tracking module utilizes Iridium’s short-burst data service. The unit is powered by the snowmobile’s 12-Volt battery and has convenient front-panel LED status indicators to show power, GPS tracking and Iridium satellite connections at a glance. It also has an optional “man down” tether switch that automatically sends a distress message, which includes the GPS location if the driver is thrown from the snowmobile. This message can be sent to a predetermined email address, pager or cell phone and is user defined via a web portal.

Winter Accessories – Men’s Gloves

Now that the weather has truly turned and I had to de-ice my car this morning(!) I thought it was time to start showcasing some of the new winter accessory collections that have been released by multiple designers. Gloves seemed a good place to start as they are very versatile and nearly everyone has a pair for those horrible cold days. The thing with winter accessories is they are supposed to be practical as well as stylish because the weather is so cold and they literally are there to make you feel comfortable.

Like we pointed out with the Mac though, practical items can be stylish and I think we have come a long way from the old days of slipping on a pair of simple cotton gloves to keep warm. These days you have designers creating leather versions, patterned gloves, fashion mittens, suede versions, cut offs, and so many more. There are literally hundreds of types, varieties and colours so it is hard to know where to start and what type of glove you are looking for.

Leather and suede gloves have an air of formality associated with them and even give off a bit of class and extravagance. These would be great for mixing with suits, professional wear and relaxed formal outfits. Paired with a great leather man bag and either shoes or boots, you can create a really smart look with clean lines – whatever you are wearing. Cut off or fingerless gloves are a more fashion forward approach to this winter accessory that All Saints have really concentrated on this year. I am a big fan of the cut off glove for the worker wear and rocker looks this year, as they are slightly more edgy and would look great paired with a check shirt and/or leather jacket.

One of the trends that occurred last year within men’s gloves was the mitten coming back into favour within the fashion crowds. Yesterday I went into length about how people are looking for something different these days to stand out and how old or “unfashionable” items are picked up by the minority and then picked up as a trend by the majority after that. I think the mitten was one of these items because to me they are associated with being a kid and getting wrapped up warm by my Mum and Dad for cold days – doesn’t exactly scream style right?! But the new twist to mittens is that you can get cut off gloves with a mitten cover stitched onto the back that you can pull over when it gets cold to create a mitten… two looks in one really. This means you can rock the fashionable cut off style as part of your outfit, but also gives you the practicality of a mitten when it is TOO cold.
