How you present yourself in front of the audience is one of the most important presentation skills. A good orator with a lousy appearance will not impress the audience at all. It’s not that your should be decked up for the speech, but dressing appropriately is what is required. There are various factors which enhance a person’s presentation skills. They seem to be minor, but can make a difference in any presentation if taken into account.

Let us discuss about these factors which need to be taken care of for acquiring great presentation skills.

1.    Physical Appearance:
First impression is the last impression. Always dress up neatly and as the situation demands. You cannot be dressed up in an office suit at a banquet speech. Take care that you wear such clothes in which you feel comfortable. This way you can carry yourself confidently and smartly. When you know that you are looking good, it will bring out the best presentation skills out of you.

2.    Eye Contact:
Always maintain eye contact with the audience. This will portray you as a confident speaker with effective presentation skills. Moreover it also helps to keep the audience alert and give them an impression that you are talking to them directly. The people who are listening to you will not feel out of place.

3.    Gauge the people’s reactions:
You can learn a lot from the people’s reactions while you are talking. Your presentation skills lie in determining the flow of your speech according to the response of the audience.

4.    Watch your movements:
Try and be yourself while presenting. Moving around very little or very much seems unnatural. Keep yourself at ease while giving your speech and relax. This will get you closer to the audience. Also, moving from one side to the other of the podium will involve all the people in the audience.
